Northern Stallion Showcase  a focus for region's breeders

Breeders of horses and ponies from across a wide region will travel to Northumberland on Saturday March 21st for the 2015 Northern Stallion Showcase being held in association with Baileys Horse Feeds at Park End Equestrian near Hexham.

With 10 days to go before the showcase, which was held very successfully for the first time in 2014, entries are still being received with over 30 superb stallions representing the native breeds, sport ponies and sport horses from the major competitions disciplines already confirmed. Together they offer an unique opportunity for breeders to see a large number of stallions from studs around the country 'in the flesh' and to discuss their mares and breeding plans for the 2015 season.

Tickets for the Showcase are available online from a link on the Northern Stallion Showcase website at www.northernstallionshowcase.co.uk with free parking and programmes for all visitors. There is also the opportunity to visit the stallions in the stables during the lunchtime break in the showcase programme and to talk individually to the stallion owners and stud managers.

Pam Harrison from the organising team confirmed: "There is a lot of enthusiasm and support for a stallion showcase in the region, as it allows breeders to see a number of different stallions without having to commit time for travelling to all the different studs around the country. It also gives studs an opportunity to showcase their stallions to a large audience on one day, many of whom would potentially not otherwise find time to visit individual studs."
