Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials to Run a Fifth Day in 2020

Next year one of the most popular televised outdoor sporting events in the UK, Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials is set to open its doors to the public for five days. Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials will take place from Wednesday 2nd September – Sunday 6th September 2020.  Tickets for all five days will be on sale in April 2020 from the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials Box Office.

In 2020 this international competition will welcome some of the rapidly growing number of amateur eventing athletes, to compete in the entry level BE80 (T) Championship on behalf of the sport’s governing body British Eventing.  This will take place on the Wednesday of the Event, along with the long-standing ‘First Horse Inspection’ for the main competition.

Event Director Elizabeth Inman said: “We see this as a natural progression for amateur riders at grassroots level to have the opportunity to ‘compete at Burghley’ alongside our elite International, Olympic-level riders.  We are confident this ticketed Event will be well supported throughout the duration.”

Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials’ famous shopping village will also be open all day on the Wednesday.  As well as all the sporting action, visitors enjoy a unique shopping experience ranging from London’s Bond Street to bespoke country tailors, The Burghley Food Walk with specialist food exhibitors, the Pol Roger Champagne Lodge plus activities for all the family including Land Rover Off Road Driving Experience, Autarky ‘Have a Go’ Dog Agility, the Musto Mare Equine Simulator, Shetland Pony Grand National, Gundog Display and a parade of Driven Donkeys.
