Hartpury has announced a new partnership with three organisations – the Society of Master Saddlers, the Worshipful Company of Loriners and the Worshipful Company of Saddlers – to carry out industry-driven research and promote equine education. With horse welfare at the heart of all the organisations’ equestrian activities, the partnership will drive forward training, education and research in relation to horse-human interaction and partnership.

Risk Of Equine Parasitic Skin Disease Warns Veterinary Dermatologist

Skin disease is a common problem for horses, but a leading veterinary dermatologist believes some parasitic diseases are becoming more frequent, in line with a reduction in the use of wormers. While a return to the indiscriminate use of anthelmintics is inconceivable, Dr Sue Paterson is advising that skin problems must be treated using suitable veterinary advice rather than 'Dr Google'.

It's On! BD Winter Championships WILL Take Place

The NAF Five Star Winter Championships and Petplan Equine Area Festival Championships, due to take place at Hartpury in April, was one of the first large dressage events to be cancelled when the coronavirus pandemic took hold in Britain back in March. However, after working closely with the show organisers, venue, competitors and officials, British Dressage is delighted to announce that riders, horses, owners and connections will not miss their opportunity to compete at Hartpury and the revised championships are now set to run from 17 to 23 August 2020.

British Breeding Futurity Off To Flying Start

The British Breeding / Baileys Horse Feeds Futurity Evaluations enjoyed a strong start this week (July 13th), with breeders for the first time submitting their entries in a digital format using sets of detailed videos taken on hard and soft ground. These were examined by a team of international experts, including a senior veterinarian, nutritionist, linear scorer and senior evaluators from the UK, Holland and Germany.

Live Eventing Returns to H&C+ With XC Action From Barbury

There’s a real treat in store for eventing fans this weekend as the sporting calendar comes back to life after lockdown.
